Argumentative Essay in French: How to write? – DELF B2 and DALF C1

Because in the DALF C1 exam, it is very important to understand the concept of the text in addition to grammar and vocabulary. (PARTIE 1)

Definition

• There will be a text related to the theme in the synthesis section, but the information there is insufficient. A personal opinion will be presented in detail.
• You will question your decision and explain why you made this decision.

The different types

• Forum                 : You tell your opinion about the forum made on a specific topic. So in the question someone will say their opinion and ask our opinion. We will reply with a different view or with the same opinion.

• Journal article                            : It is assumed that we are a journalist or a member of a magazine. And after that we are asked to write an article to inform readers about a topic.
• Summary of a meeting              : Not likely.

• Formal or informal letter: A friend may have asked you for information on a topic here. Or we may be asked to send an e-mail to a government agency or companies about a subject.

Differences with synthesis and argumentative essay in French

• While only what is given in the text can be used in the synthesis, we can also add ideas from outside here.
• The ideas in the synthesis texts can be derived but not referenced.
• He talks about subject-based receipts.

Read the subject carefully

• First we read the question and decide on which document type we will write. Who are we, who do we turn to, why do we write?

Finding idea

We find ideas. We note the arguments and add examples.

 

Structure using a plan

• Then we create our plan. These are of two types:
  • Dialectique – thesis, antithesis, synthesis (difficult)
  • Analytique – problem, causes, solutions

Construction

• Introduction : We indicate what we will be talking about. We say the importance of the issue. For example, about the importance of the telephone, is it possible to live without a phone today? Then the problématique and plan are explained.

• Development       : Arguments should have under 3 paragraphs. Paragraph heads should be well separated from the introduction and conclusion.

• Conclusion          : A short synthesis is a must. Afterwards, a stimulating question is asked for another text.

Monsieur le Maire,

À nom de l’association commerçant d’Istanbul, je vous écris au sujet de votre décision d’ouverture à la circulation routière de la Grande Rue de Péra.

Je n’ignore pas l’intérêt que représente le marché pour notre ville. Il est devenu en effet un rendez-vous incontournable pour les Istanbuliens et les nombreux touristes qu’il attire chaque année. La volonté de la mairie de la réhabilitation de la circulation d’Istanbul est de ce point de vue une excellente nouvelle.

Toutefois, je me permets de vous alerter sur les conséquences commerciales de cette décision. Tout d’abord, cette action affectera économiquement plus 50.000 commerçants sur la Grande Rue de Péra et en plus minimum 200.000 personnes avec leur famille parce qu’on sait qu’une circulation piétonne intensif mais après cela, ce diminuera.  D’ailleurs, cette rue est un symbole d’Istanbul à cause de cela nombreux touristes veulent marcher sur cette rue. Cette décision bloquera cet évènement des touristes et ce sera une déception pour eux.

En conséquence, je souhaiterais insister au nom de mon association sur la nécessité de trouver une solution qui, tout en favorisant nos intérêts économiques, se montrerait plus respectueuse du symbole d’Istanbul. Nous pourrions faire un don pour élargir le réseau métro dans cette région puisqu’on voit que la circulation est une trouble pour les gens qui voudrait visiter à cette rue.
